How to Open and Solder Key for VVDI MLB Tool Add Key?

 

Before adding VW MLB keys, Xhorse VVDI MLB Tool requires users to dismantle and solder key for original data calculation.

One customer asked how to dismantle and remove capacitors without burning keys. He can pull and replace 64 leg chips but these resistors are so small my tools don't work well.

1.Open MLB Key Tips

This in windscreen glass repair kit got the job done to cut the key.

With a blade and cut and Key Tool Plus will play the rest.

Step-by-step process:

Remove key shells on both sides.

Remove two screws to remove the top part.

Open the key.

Get key pcb.

2.Soldering Tips

Desolder just 1 leg of the resistor and lift it. So when done, only thing to do is bend it down and touch it for 2 seconds with the soldering iron..

I use JBC soldering iron. Really small tip and works great. It's a bit expensive, but it will help you on those jobs.

 

*If original key get damaged, Add key will be AKL, then dealer or ODIS,
